1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files sent from a website to the terminal (usually the browser) of the user, where they are stored and then transmitted to the website upon the next visit by the same user. Cookies cannot retrieve any other data from your hard drive, nor pass on computer viruses or capture e-mail addresses. Each cookie is unique to the user’s web browser.

2. Types of cookies

Cookies of all types may be either first- or third-party cookies, whereby “first-party” cookies are those that relate to the website’s domain, while “third-party” cookies are those that relate to external domains. Third-party cookies are necessarily installed by a third party, always referred to as a “third party”, and are not managed by the site. The main types are listed below:

2.1 Flash cookie

One type of cookie is the so-called “flash cookie” (Local Shared Objects) used internally by Adobe Flash Player to deliver certain content, such as video clips or animations, in order to remember your settings and preferences. Flash cookies are stored on your device but are managed by means of a different interface from that provided by your browser. The prior consent of users is not required for these cookies (for more information see “Managing cookies” below).

2.2 Technical cookies

Technical cookies are used for the sole purposes of “carrying out the transmission of a communication on an electronic communications network, or insofar as this is strictly necessary to the provider of an information society service that has been explicitly requested by the contracting party or user to provide the said service.“ (see article 122 (1) of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003). They are not used for other purposes and are normally installed directly by the owner or operator of the website. They may be divided into:

2.2.1 Browsing or session cookies

Browsing or session cookies, which guarantee normal browsing and use of the website (for example to permit purchases to be made or to allow access to restricted areas) and which are in fact necessary for the proper functioning of the site;

2.2.2 Analytics cookies

Analytics cookies, which are similar to technical cookies in that they are used directly by the site operator to gather information in aggregate form on the number of users and how they come to visit the site in order to improve site performance;

2.2.3 Function cookies

Function cookies, which allow users to browse according to selected criteria (e.g. language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service received: the prior consent of users is not required for the installation of these cookies.

2.3 Profiling cookies

Profiling cookies are intended to create user profiles and are used in order to send advertising messages in accordance with the preferences expressed by users when browsing. User consent is required for the use of profiling cookies.

3. Cookies installed on this website

Below are listed the cookies (grouped together by function or by service provider) that are present on the Loacker websites covered by this information notice. Third-party cookies have a link to the privacy policy of the respective external service provider where you can find a detailed description of the individual cookies and how they are used.

3.1. System cookies

Loacker websites use cookies to provide you with a better browsing experience: such cookies are essential for the full enjoyment of the site. You can disable these cookies in your browser by following the directions in the respective section, but you may spoil your experience of the site and we will not be liable for any malfunction.

3.2. Third-party technical cookies

3.3. “Analytics” cookies

Google Analytics uses cookies to gather and analyse information in anonymous form about website usage behaviour. This information is gathered by Google Inc. and processed in order to produce reports regarding activities on the website. All data gathered and shared with Google Inc. will be rendered anonymous (by deleting significant components of the IP address of both IpV4 and IpV6 type) and will be used solely in order to improve the operation of the websites covered by this information notice. For regulatory purposes, anonymised third-party analytics cookies shall be treate as technical cookies and shall not require information banners, informed consent or notification to the Data Protection Authority.

3.4. Third-party profiling cookies

4. Duration of cookies

The duration of cookies is determined by their expiry date (or a specific action such as closing the browser), which is set when they are installed. Cookies may be:

4.1 temporary or session cookies

that are used to store temporary information and allow you to link actions performed during a particular session: they are removed from your computer when you close your browser;

4.2 permanent or persistent cookies

that are used to store information, such as your name and password, in order to avoid users having to enter this again whenever they visit a particular site: they are stored on your computer after you close your browser.

5. Managing cookies

Loacker keeps track of user consent by means of an appropriate technical cookie, deemed to be “not particularly invasive” by the Data Protection Authority. Users may refuse consent and/or modify their own options regarding the use of cookies by this website at any time by customising their own browser settings.
Users may at any time exercise their rights as recognised by art. 7 of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003, in particular the right to obtain a copy of the data being processed, to require the updating of such data, and to know the origin, purpose and method of processing.
In order to exercise these rights, please contact the Loacker data processing manager for the relevant Marketing Area, whose address for service is at Loacker’s registered office, or contact us using the e-mail address given at the head of this information notice.
If consent has already been given but you wish to modify your cookie settings, these must be cancelled via your browser, otherwise cookies that have already been installed will not be removed. In particular, please note that it is not possible in any way to control thirdparty cookies and therefore, if consent has already been given, it will be necessary to cancel such cookies via the dedicated section of your browser or by requesting an opt-out directly from the relevant third parties or via the website
