We believe that true success is rooted in the positive impact we have on the world, alongside our financial profit. We chose to become a “Società Benefit” on our centenary, a natural step that builds on our family values, our love for the Alps, and our commitment to goodness. This path is the first step on a long journey toward B Corp certification, which we aim to achieve by 2027.
Our commitment is defined by four core goals: climate action and environmental protection, an ethical supply chain, social responsibility towards our people, and mindful indulgence. We invite you to join us on this journey. We believe we can only make a real difference for our planet and the next generations by working together.
We focus on several aspects that are key to environmental sustainability.

Hazelnuts, cocoa, vanilla and milk: these are some of the ingredients that make our products unmistakably in Loacker. That’s why we’ve built dedicated sourcing programs for each of them, supporting farming communities and promoting agricultural practices that respect nature. We make sure that genetically modified organisms are not present in any of our ingredients. Our new recipes are NON-GMO. The external certification organization FoodChain ID controls the management system and procedures every year.
All our electricity comes from certified wind and water sources. And since 2011, we’ve been producing our own solar energy at our Unterinn site, with a second photovoltaic system added in Heinfels in 2021.
We also recover the waste heat from the baking process in all our manufacturing facilities. Through the use of heat-recovery systems we can use the heat from the ovens to heat the production areas and to provide hot water.
On the road, we work with our logistics partners to reduce emissions. We ensure diesel-fueled trucks are used for transport. By doing so, we achieve CO2 savings of up to 20%. In 2025, we aim to significantly increase the share of our heavy-duty vehicles powered by HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) and LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) — two promising alternatives to fossil fuels.
To deliver a perfect, crispy product to our consumers even after travelling across the globe, we need high-quality packaging films. These must meet very demanding goals, such as humidity barriers, protection from changes in temperature, and legal frameworks.
Since 2021, we’ve reduced the average plastic content in our packaging by up to 15%, and we’re not stopping there. By 2025, all our plastic packaging will be made from fully recyclable monomaterials. For example, the new packaging for our Quadratini line will be 17% lighter, saving around one tonne of plastic per year.
We have a number of programs in place to foster our employees’ personal and professional growth and also to strive for retaining employees for the long term. Some of these programs include the annual performance review, academy training programs, prevention and well-being initiatives and a trained emergency response team.
