By strengthening production quality, training local promoters, and preserving traditional varieties like Cacao Nacional, we enhance local biodiversity, improve crop yields, and foster long-term food security and economic dignity.
Through our Cocoa Farming Program, Loacker works directly with local farming communities to ensure full traceability and high quality across our ingredients. We source our cocoa mass directly in Ecuador and Côte d'Ivoire.
To build a resilient, geographically diverse value chain, we also source cocoa powder through a long-term direct partnership in Peru and West Africa, alongside cocoa butter from West Africa and an innovative four-hectare pilot project in Madagascar. Rather than relying on simple market transactions, we establish long-lasting partnerships built on equality, transparency, regenerative agriculture, and community wellbeing.
In Ecuador, we have activated a new 5-year contract with Altromercato and the Maquita Foundation under our Sustainable Development Program - Made in Dignity. This initiative provides smallholder farming families with structured training on pruning, organic composting from plant residues, and EU-compliant plant protection practices.
In Côte d'Ivoire, we collaborate with local partners Sucden and Agro Force through an initiative extended for an additional 3 years. Our joint efforts focus on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), agroforestry, soil fertility management, and community development.
To ensure supply chain resilience and deepen our commitment to local farming communities, Loacker has expanded its ethical sourcing model:
The milk chocolate refined with fine flavor cocoa from Ecuador is gently spiced and nutty, with a warm hazelnut color and caramel fragrance.
The bright milk chocolate, with its distinctive soft hazelnut color, bequeaths the most enchanting flavors of cream, caramel, and mixed-blossom honey.
The dark chocolate, with its supremely elegant hue, is fruity and bittersweet, with a delicate hint of honey.
The white chocolate is enhanced with gentle overtones of milk, cream, flowers and caramel.
