Through our Cocoa Farming Program, we work directly with cocoa farmers in Ecuador and the Côte d'Ivoire to understand the origin of our ingredients. Through local projects, we promote improved agricultural practices and teach responsible farming techniques. This commitment aims to create a positive, lasting impact on local communities and contribute to increased, long-term wellbeing.
In 2024 we collaborated with Altromercato and continued to develop social projects. These projects had a positive impact on local communities, helped make their businesses sustainable, and improved agricultural practices and product quality.
We monitor these initiatives to guarantee effectiveness and identify room for improvement. Our current sourcing commitments are:
Loacker's "Sustainable Development Programme -Made in Dignity" is a key social project, in partnership with Altromercato and the Maquita Foundation. It supports small cocoa farmers and their families to: - Improve production quality and quantity. - Train local stakeholders. - Increase biodiversity and food security.
We collaborate with Sucden and Agro Force, two local organisations, to implement projects that have a positive impact on local communities in the Côte d'Ivoire.
Loacker's 2024 strategic initiatives, in partnership with Sucden, focused on optimizing production and promoting best agricultural practices.
These activities use a robust monitoring system covering key areas, including: Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), agroforestry, fighting child labour, women's empowerment, and community development.
We’ve also launched two training cycles for 251 farmers between 2024 and 2025 with focus on long-term sustainability, soil fertility management, disease and pest control, compost production and agroforestry.
